A Ford City woman is facing charges in Jefferson County after allegedly neglecting her child’s severe dental issues.
Police say Shelby Szul, 30, left her children for months and refused to seek treatment for one child who suffered painful tooth decay. The child eventually required five teeth extractions and two root canals. Szul is charged with child endangerment and neglect of a care-dependent person. A preliminary hearing is set for July 21.
