Authorities in Punxsutawney have charged a 62-year-old man after he allegedly posed as an animal control officer to enter a woman’s apartment while she slept, police said.
According to a report on ExploreJeffersonPa.com, the man is accused of knocking on the door around 1 a.m. on April 25, claiming he was there about a barking dog before using a key to enter without permission. The victim awoke to find him inside her apartment, where he allegedly rummaged through belongings before leaving.
He faces felony counts of criminal trespass along with misdemeanor charges including official oppression and loitering, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 7.
