Jodi Lynn Parks, the mother of slain Clearfield County resident Kodey Parks, has reached a settlement with gun manufacturer KelTec in her federal wrongful death lawsuit, according to court records filed Monday.
The lawsuit alleges that a handgun purchased by Danielle Parks at the Clearfield Rural King store in February 2024 was illegally transferred to convicted killer Bryan Michaelis, who fatally shot Kodey Parks the following day. Settlement terms were not disclosed.
The lawsuit remains pending against the remaining defendants, including Rural King, which has denied liability and argued that federal law protects firearm retailers from such claims.
