The Clearfield County Prison Board has officially designated the county correctional facility as the Clearfield County Jail.
According to GantNews.com, Warden Krista Oates says the facility has been called several different names in legal and county records, creating issues during state inspections. The board also reported 126 inmates were housed Tuesday, down from previous years. Two July incidents included an inmate death following a cardiac event and officers using physical compliance measures during a unit transfer.
The board also approved plans to use qualified inmates for floor maintenance work at the county administrative building, with a formal policy to be developed.
