Brookville will end its free holiday parking tradition on Main Street starting in 2026, Borough Manager Dana Rooney confirmed, a decision driven by complaints from business owners.
ExploreJeffersonPa.Com reports, merchants argued that employees were abusing the free December parking, leading to a lack of spaces for customers and negatively impacting holiday commerce. While some business owners support the move, arguing it will free up prime spots for shoppers, others expressed disappointment, citing a loss of holiday spirit and potential customer deterrent.
Free parking remains in effect for the current holiday season.
