A 19-year-old driver was injured after losing control of her vehicle on a wet roadway in Jefferson County, authorities said.
The crash occurred around 11:06 a.m. April 25 on Alliance Drive near South Main Street Extension in Young Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Punxsutawney. Police said Rylie A. Sheesley, of Timblin, was traveling north when her vehicle lost traction while navigating a left curve. She overcorrected, causing the vehicle to rotate and leave the roadway backward before striking a group of trees.
Sheesley sustained suspected minor injuries but declined medical transport. Police cited her for failing to drive at a safe speed.
